My name is Katu and I am currently working as the Head of Lutheran Health Services in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea. My interests include mitigation of issues in regions covered by Lutheran Health Services and improving Health services within those regions.
The SolSol project is ready to start now. What do you expect the project will achieve in the next few years?
I expect the SolSol project to be fully implemented so that health, education and mission facilities can finally benefit from the power generated by the solar minigrids.
What made you join the SolSol project team?
I joined SolSol project because it is important to ELCPNG and Church Leadership has requested all division heads to be members of the SolSol Steering Committee.
What do you see as your contribution to the project?
My contribution to the project is to enable reliable access to electricity within Church health facilities especially those in remote areas.
What is the most surprising thing you learnt during your time at the SolSol project?
The most surprising thing I’ve learnt is that the SolSol minigrids can generate enough own solar power and tremendously improve the services provided by the church facilities.
In your daily life, what are the three most important to keep on power with solar?
Lights, Critical Appliances & Fridges
