My name is Charlie, I am an electrical engineer by profession. I like working on anything technical that provides me with a good challenge from fixing cars, fabricating equipment and working on Hydro electric and Solar systems.
The SolSol project is ready to start now. What do you expect the project will achieve in the next few years?
The project will help ELC-PNG, its institutions and neighboring communities to be more productive and sustainable through the deployment of solar mini-grids.
What made you join the SolSol project team?
I joined SolSol project because I wanted to contribute to the Church and to the community as an engineer.
What do you see as your contribution to the project?
My contribution to the project has seen me leave formal employment and I have dedicated one year to the establishment of the project. I will continue dedicating myself as the Lead Engineer to ensure my technical expertise propel SolSol to be a fully functional and sustainable project for ELC-PNG.
What is the most surprising thing you learnt during your time at the SolSol project?
The most surprising thing I’ve learnt is how lightly the government is addressing the need for people in PNG to be able to have access to good reliable electricity.
